Among the operational conditions for the Anllo Hydroelectric Power Plant (C.H. Anllo) is the requirement to maintain a minimum discharge of 2.00 m³/s as an ecological flow.
The ecological flow discharge was previously carried out through a bottom drain, consisting of a steel forced pipe with a diameter of 600 mm. Due to the elevation difference of the free water surface between upstream and downstream of the weir, and considering that the 2.00 m³/s ecological flow is reached or exceeded on most days of the year, it was decided to study both the production possibilities and the economic feasibility of utilizing the ecological flow for hydroelectric power generation at the Anllo weir.
AIN active drafted a project in order to prepare the required technical documentation for requesting the concession for the hydroelectric utilization of the ecological flow at the Azud de Anllo (río Lerez), defining the works and facilities intended for hydroelectric power generation.
